iNSOURCED PARENTING

“iNSOURCED PARENTING”

Insourcing: the practice of using an organization's personnel or

other resources to accomplish a previously outsourced task.

Outsourcing: an agreement in which one [family] hires another

[individual] to be responsible for a planned or existing activity that

someone could do it internally.

Parenting: promoting and supporting the physical, emotional,

social, and intellectual development of a child from infancy

to adulthood; the intricacies of raising a child and not exclusively

for a biological relationship.

Why introduce our blog with all of these definitions? Because we want you to know what we’re all about!

For a century, American culture has increasingly moved away from the family caring for the needs of our children toward other systems and leaders caring for them. The result is a generation of parents unsure of promoting and supporting their kids’ physical, emotional, social, intellectual, and SPIRITUAL development.

There are so many parenting resources available to us. Almost too many. Each book, website, and podcast has good intentions (we hope!); however, altogether, they become completely overwhelming.

At iNSOURCED PARENTING, we want to encourage the renewal of our minds about how we parent:

“Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.”

(Rom. 12:2)

What in the world do we mean by that!? Simple, dear friend. We want to renew our minds in how we think about parenting to discern how to parent in a way that pleases God. As we read through the Bible, we ask God for his discernment for Godly parenting.

We know what you’re thinking because we’ve thought the same thing, “But I don’t know how to do that!” Our instinct is to reach out to anything and everything we can get our hands on to help us out. We begin rely on other resources because, “Surely they know better than me. They’re the professionals!” But God’s Word says:

“God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.”

(Ps. 46:1)

God longs for us to come to Him in ALL things. HE is our source and He gave us the ultimate resource.

Our team believes God provided the ultimate parenting resource in His Word! We have poured over Scripture asking God to reveal His good, pleasing, and perfect will for parenting for almost two years. But, that journey is FAR from over, and we want to bring you along with us.

It is NOT simple. It is NOT “5 Easy Steps to a New Family.” It is NOT passive.

It IS hard work. It IS proactive. It CAN be lonely. It DOES take years of hard work and submission to our Heavenly Father, the Author and Perfector of our faith.

“Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay

aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the

race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our

faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and

has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.” (Heb 12:1–2)

We can’t promise a certain outcome, nor will we pretend we have it all together.

What we CAN promise is that we are with you in the trenches. We will link arms with you as we lean into Jesus.
